A former Minister of Arts and Culture in the Sri Lanka Youth Parliament, Thejitha has represented Sri Lanka at several international youth and peace forums. His work also includes serving as President of Heritage Kites Sri Lanka, Chairman of Human Wing International, Former National Organiser of the Commonwealth Youth Network of Sri Lanka, Former Vice President of the Physically Challenged Sports Organization and Vice President of the Sri Lanka Youth Parliament Alumni Association.
In recognition of his leadership and social impact, Thejitha was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Young Leader Award (2015) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Buckingham Palace, England. He has also received the Best Youth Worker Award (2013) and the Best Social Worker ‘Susewabhimani’ Award (2016).
